Breakfast with Santa

We were invited to my Grandma's rest home to have breakfast with Santa. This could have either been one of those really good things or one of those activities that doesn't go as good as you hope. This turned out to be alot of fun! When we got there we were waiting in the car and right then Santa and Ms. Claus pulled in right next to us. Bryce was so excited he couldn't believe that santa was right there. When we got in and found Grandma Heath Bryce made her come out and "just take a peek" at Santa in his car. Bryce went running right up to the window so of course Santa rolled down the window to talk to him. It was so cute. When Santa finally came inside Bryce ran right up to him and started talking to him. Ms. Claus asked Bryce how old he was and he told her 2 and she asked "are you sure you are only 2?" Yes, we get that alot.
Santa walked over to sit down and Bryce followed right behind him and jumped up on his lap. There were no other kids there yet so Bryce had Santa all to himself. He sat there talking Santa's ear off for about 20 minutes. We had so much fun sitting and visiting with Santa. We then headed in and ate a yummy pancake breakfast. This turned out to be alot of fun. We are so greatful that Great-Grandma and Grandma invited us. We just wish Braiden was out of school so he could have came with us!

Gingerbread contest

We started a new family tradition last year and started doing gingerbread houses as a family. This year I only bought 2 kits so we decided to do teams. Team 1 was Daddy and Bryce and team 2 was Mommy and Braiden. It started out great and we were having a great time and it went down hill real quick (see last picture.)

Team 1 Daddy and Bryce

Team 2 Mommy and Braiden (and winners!)

The finished product. Team 1's house is on the right and team 2's house is on the left.

Now you are probably asking what happened and Tim will blame it on the fact that he had a 2 year old helping him but I am going to defend Bryce and say this wasn't really his fault. Pretty funny that team 1 had an engineer working on it and their house didn't even last for the picture.

I Love this kid

I got the BEST Christmas present early from Tim this year. I have been begging for a new camera (even though we don't need one...we have 3 cameras) but he gave in and got me a Nikon 3000 and one night while playing around figuring out settings Tim got these cute pictures of Bryce. I love his expressions!

Not a baby anymore

Okay, so I already came to the conclusion that my baby wasn't a baby anymore when he was carrying on conversations at his 1 year old birthday but this milestone of moving into a big boy bed was the hard one for me.
All parents (or maybe just Mom's) get sad at every milestone. I didn't do that. I loved saying goodbye to the binky, couldn't get rid of the bottle quick enough and welcomed him walking (even running) and I loved when he started talking and was able to communicate with us. They didn't make me sad at all. This milestone hit me really hard and I am not sure why. We moved Bryce into his "big boy bed" and "big boy room" last night and man was it hard on Tim and I.

Two nights ago we attempted a sleepover with him and Braiden and after two hours of Braiden saying "Bryce be quiet and go to bed" and Bryce laughing at Braiden I decided to go in and cut the sleepover short. Braiden headed back to his room and Bryce told me that he wanted to go back to his crib. I gave in (because I am exhausted) and put him in his crib where he went right to sleep.

The next night I decided to do our nightly routine and keep everything the same as we do every night. So, we sat in his bed and read our books and then I tucked him in and shut out the light and left the room, just like we did when he slept in his crib. He cried for a little bit and we laid in bed and listened on the baby moniter and then Tim couldn't take it anymore and went into check on him. Poor little guy just wanted his dinosaur blanky from his crib (yep, he has a brand new bed with matching bedding and he wants his old blanket). As soon as Tim cuddled him up with his blanket he was quiet as can be and out cold. I laid in bed wondering what he is going to do if he wakes up. Will he head upstairs, maybe out the garage or will he come and find us. I was a mess. So about 2 o'clock I feel a little poke on my cheek and open my eyes to see Bryce staring at me. It was the cutest thing to wake up to. I said "hey buddy do you want to go back to sleep in your crib or you big boy bed?" and he wispered "my big boy bed". So, I walked him back down to bed and tucked him all in cozy and didn't hear from him until I had to wake him up the next morning at 8 o'clock. I would have left him in his crib until he didn't fit if I could have. I get so nervous that he can get up at night and walk around. This was the big milestone that made me really feel like I have lost my baby!

Pregnancy Meltdown...update

So, the t-shirts came for the football players (a day late) and I ripped open the box so very excited to get them ready to drive all over South Jordan and the front of the shirt looks great....the back of the shirt? Completely wrong. All the boys numbers are incorrect. Ha Ha, I am so glad I have NO tears left cause all I could do was laugh. I was ready to become an enraged crazy women and pulled up the email they so very nicely asked me to "approve" and sure enough, they are all wong on the sample email and right underneath it I said "looks great, please proceed." Yep, it is official, the baby has no began to take over my brain along with the rest of my body. He better hurry and get here cause I am starting to get a little grumpy with him!
