Spring Fever

We decided to go to the Tracy Aviary today to get us out of the house. Bryce LOVES birds and I knew he would love walking around the aviary. We invited Braiden but he had a friend sleepover last night and said he didn't want to go :( We called Aunt Lisa to come with us and she had my nephew Riley staying over so they met us and Bryce loved that Riley was going to come with us. When we got there we fed the ducks and I think that was Bryces favorite part. He kept yelling to the ducks "come and eat duckys". He is so cute. We came across some peacocks on the sidewalk and Bryce thought that was so neat to get so close to them. He decided to play follow the leader with one and walk right behind it. The bird really didn't know what to think of Bryce and at one point Bryce was looking over at me and Lisa and the bird stopped and Bryce turned around just in time to run into the bird. We had such a great time getting outside and seeing the sunshine.

Bryce feeding the peacock. It ate duck food right out of our hand. I have to admit it was a little scary and the pecks were a little hard. Bryce didn't know what to think about it.

Bryce feeding the ducks. A couple of the ducks got Bryce's fingers and he didn't like that at all. He told the ducks "no bite Bryce"

Thankful Thursday

So I am totally copying this idea but I loved the idea of listing things that I am thankful for so, I am starting my own thankful day!

1. I am thankful that I have a husband that is willing to do anything for his family...even selling his pride and joy car. Sorry babe!
2. I am thankful that my sister introduced me to MOPS (mothers of pre-school students). Getting out once a week and visiting with other adults has saved me (and Bryce).
3. I am thankful that I get to go scrapbooking whenever I want. I love going to the store and scrapbooking with the girls (and catching up on old stories).
4. I am thankful that I have two of the easiest going boys there is. My boys will just go with the flow with no questions asked and always have a good time (or atleast flatter me by acting like it).
5. I am thankful that I am able to stay home with my boys. I can honestly say being a stay home Mom is one of the hardest things I have ever done but easily the most rewarding. I never got to stay home with Braiden and even as old as he is I can tell he enjoys having me home when he gets home from school. I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Children's Museum

Since the kids are out of school for Martin Luther King Jr. Day we were looking for something to do and decided to head up to the Children's Museum at the Gateway Mall and the kids had so much fun. I could not get Bryce out of there. I think he was so over stimulated, he just kept running from one activity to the next. I finally found an activity that Braiden and Bryce could both enjoy.

Yummy Blog

This is the yummiest blog that I want to share with everyone. I love this site. I have tried quite a few of the recipes listed on here and they are so easy and so yummy. She includes the most simple directions that come in real handy for someone who doesn't know what they are doing in the kitchen!

Curious Bryce

Every year we sign up for the read-a-thon through KUED and if the kids read so many minutes a month they qualify to attend the party. This years theme was Curious George and Bryce was THRILLED to get to meet Curious George. He ran right up to him and gave him the biggest hug. They get to go to all kids of different booths and make crafts and see animals. I am starting to feel really bad because I never get any pictures of Braiden but he is getting so big and just wanders off to do his own thing so I never get any pics but he is always doing the activities with us.

2008 Year in Review

I want to thank all our family and friends that helped us make 2008 such a great year with so many memories!
This is a very long post but I really want a re-cap of the year so when I look back I can remember all the good times that 2008 brought us.

January
We spent New Year's Eve at Sheila and Mikes and then woke up early for our traditional New Year's breakfast at Village Inn. Braiden played Jr. Jazz Basketball and Tim went to Germany for work for 12 days.

February
For Valentines Day the boys got stuffed animal's that came with a website that they could go to and pick a star and name it after them. Bryce also started swim lessons which was so much fun (other than the water was too cold for Mommy)

March

Easter....lots and lots of activities. We went to the Rec. Center and ate Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, had an egg hunt and did diving for easter eggs (in the pool). We also go together with the family for our traditional cookies and egg decorating and then went to the park for dinner and another egg hunt and a great family softball game (that Grandma Heath put together). We also started a HUGE project (physicall and financially) we decided to remodel our kitchen. Tim and his Dad did almost the entire kitchen and the finished product is amazing!

April

Wow April came fast....my baby turned 1 years old and I couldn't believe it. Tim's Dad turned 50 and for his birthday they gave us a gift and took everyone for a week trip to Mexico. What an amazing trip, I love spending time on the beach with family.

May
Bryce got to go to Lagoon for his first time and loved the fountains and the rides. We tagged along to my nephews party so we didn't see alot of Braiden because he was running with the older boys. Tim celebrated a birthday and Braiden started football on an indoor league which was different than what we are used to but Braid still enjoyed it.

June

Tim goes to Germany for work again for 8 days and gets back on the 8th and me, Braid and Bryce leave on the 9th to go and spend a week in Bear Lake with my sisters. This is such a fun tradition that we do every year. Jodi, Lisa and myself go down there with our kids and spend the week playing tennis, golfing, swimming, riding bikes and sitting at the beach. Grandma, Grandpa, Jodi's family and my family headed up to the canyons for hiking and Kentucky Fried Chicken dinner. And lastly, on the 30th Bryce went in to Primary Children's for surgery. He had a testicle that had not descended and they went in to fix that and bring it down and while in there they fixed a hernia (sp?). He was such a trooper....he didn't even know he had just gone thru surgery.

July

I guess I dont have any pics to post for July but it was a busy one. On July 11th Tim's sister got married and Braiden started "Hell week" for football. This is his 5th season playing football. We played 3 years for Jordan High, 1 year of indoor football and this year playing for Bingham High. We spend alot of time playing at the lake in Delta and we spent the 4th at the Delta parade and then going to the Crash Derby and the 24th at the Hinkley parade and then the Hinkley rodeo. This is something we have done every year and LOVE IT.

August

Vicki and Braiden celebrate a birthday. Braiden turned 12 years old (1 more year until I have a teenager). Tim is gone for 11 days to germany for work and yes, this is the month that the family got braces together. Ha Ha, I never thought I would get braces with my 12 yr. old but since Tim designed them and we got a great deal on them we all got braces (I am not happy about this). Bryce started tumbing and LOVES it and the whole family went to Cherry Hill and it was on Braiden's birthday so he spent his birthday there.

September
Tim leaves again for to Switzerland for 10 days and we continue with lots and lots of football. My Saturday's are very busy with our game and then off to nephews games. I have one nephew playing for East and one playing for Jordan so some Saturdays are filled with football. Me and Tim celebrated our 3rd Anniv. at the Daniel Summit Lodge. We were married Sept. 16 2005

October
Braidens football team made it to the playoffs (which we won) and then we went to the State Championship game and what a dissapointing game that was. We played East and we lost by 1 point. The boys were soooo sad. We spent alot of time doing Halloween activities and staying busy with friends. We also got a new niece. Tim's sister Emily had Baby Abbigail on Oct. 3rd.

November
This Thanksgiving was done a little different. My Mom was planning dinner at her house and got a hernia the night before and ended up in the emergency room and having surgery at 4 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. So, Aunt Lisa saved the day by cooking up a delicious dinner and we had dinner at Aunt Jodi's this year. At the end of November me, Braiden and Grandpa headed to Denver for Bronco's game. What an experience!

December

Full of xmas activites. We had breakfast with Santa that was alot of fun (thx Aunt Jodi) and we went to a fun dinner with Santa and a hayride at Wheeler Farm that the kids loved. We also went to Tim's family reunion / xmas party at a hotel in Ogden which always ends up being a great time. Lots of family, games and swimming.

SK8R BOY

Thanks to my nephew who works at Classic we have been spending alot of time down there over the last couple of months. Usually Bryce just runs around or spends his time in the bounce zone but the last couple of times I have thrown skates on him and it is the cutest thing to watch. These skates are the greatest, they are rollerblades with training wheels so he doesn't fall (as much). What a cute little boy that is game to try anything!
